FALL REUNION NOVEMBER 3, 2018

                                                               PRECEPTORY OF QUINCY CONSISTORY, VALLEY OF QUINCY      MASONIC TEMPLE—NOV. 3, 2018

The 2018 Fall Reunion for the Valley of Quincy Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite was held on November 3, 2018 with 52 of our members in attendance, as per card registry.  There were no visiting Brothers from other Valleys.  Our day started at 7:30 AM with a continental breakfast in the small dining room.  Class registration and pictures of the 10 candidates took place at 8 AM.

A formal opening was held at 8:30 AM, with CIC Randy M. Zaerr, MSA 33° greeting the candidates.  It was followed by the 4th Degree—Master Traveler, and the 14th Degree—Grand Elect Mason.  The 15°Knight of the East was presented at 10:40 AM, after which a noon lunch was prepared & served by Alpha Chapter #109, OES.

After lunch, the 18th Degree—Knight of the Rose Croix of H.D.R.M.  and the 26°- Friend and Brother Eternal were performed. Concluding the afternoon program, was the 32nd Degree—Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret, including the knighting of our 10 new members. ALL DEGREES WERE PERFORMED LIVE ON STAGE, EXCEPT FOR THE 15°, WHERE A VIDEO WAS SHOWN.

Our Banquet, held at 5:00 p.m. in the dining room, started with a welcome and pledge to the flag by CIC Randy M. Zaerr, MSA 33° and the invocation by Pressly A. Laird, MSA 33°.  Then, Randy M. Zaerr, introduced the 10 new members and Kent M. Drawve, 32°, for whom the class was named.  After the meal, the Director of Work, John T. Dozier, MSA, recognized the support staff. Randy M. Zaerr then announced that Prince and Brother R. Richard Howell was selected to receive the Everett L. Lawrence Service Award. Brother Howell gave a brief speech after receiving the award. Lee R. Charity, Executive Secretary, made the presentation of pins, passports, & materials to the class. The class officers are: President, John Thompson; Orator, Daniel Allen; Vice President, Roger Still; Secretary, Theodore Deming II; Treasurer, Chad Ballinger and Historian, Richard Morelock. The other 4 members of the class are Robert Bollinger, Pete Dupoy, Roger Luthy and Cory Martin. Their class motto is “The Extended Hand of Brotherhood.” 

It was announced that Michael A. Hert and Kelly J. McElroy are scheduled to receive their MSA awards in June, 2019 at ICOD in Springfield, IL.

Randy M. Zaerr, MSA 33°, read the ten names who will be receiving membership anniversary recognition certificates for 2018 (certificates will be mailed to those not in attendance). The awardees are listed on page 2 of this report.

Seventy-six people attended the banquet and Awards Ceremony. The delicious food at the banquet was prepared & served by Miriam Shrine #3, assisted by Quincy Assembly Rainbow Girls. A good time was had by all.
